“The Silence of the Lambs”
In the thriller movie “The Silence of the Lambs”, there is so much revelation about the mysterious nature of the imprisoned former cannibalistic serial killer and a brilliant psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter. He was interviewed by Clarice in order to apprehend another serial killer by the name “Buffalo Bill”. The latter stealthily kills female victims and later skins their lifeless corpses in an attempt to design a woman’s suit made of real human skin. The killings are executed with high level of precision and discretion to the extent that even the most reputable investigating agencies, FBI, could not readily establish individual criminals behind the serial killings.
The serial killers, Hannibal Lecter and “Buffalo Bill” are the most secretive of all characters I have ever seen. Despite the fact that Hannibal Lecter is serving his sentence in prison, he still manages to kill two guards and escape – an indication that the killer is intelligent and highly experienced in his murderous operations. During his days in the prison, none would even think of Lecter as a serial killer due to his cunning character. At the end of all, he manages to escape from the prison and most probably continues with his murderous acts. The most stunning of all the characters is “Buffalo Bill”. Typical of any high profile criminal, he hides his actual identity.
He uses false names that would make it extremely difficult for any other person to link him to the actual killings. In this context, “Buffalo Bill” turns out to be Jame Gumb who had even made an earlier attempt to change his sex in vain. The shocking revelations made by FBI detective Clarice Starling tells everything about the secretive and cunning psychology of the serial killers.
