Treasure of Waukesha County
As you drive down the streets of Waukesha, you can’t help but notice the statues, monuments, and artifacts scattered throughout the city. Everywhere you look, you will find some type of statue or monument remembering someone influential or famous. And many of these statutes are dedicated to a unique and special person born and raised in Waukesha. Les Paul was born on June 9, 1915 in Waukesha and continued to live there for a good part of his life. He was credited for the creation of the first solid body electric guitar by Gibson and many others after that. His work was inspiring and influential to many and that’s why they created the 10 foot tall statues we see today in Waukesha.
Waukesha County is a treasure because of the contributions he made to Gibson and the guitar industry. And his whole life started in beautiful Waukesha County.
