Mexican Drug War

The mexican drug war is a very big conflict right now especially in the United States and Mexico. It started in 2007 and will most likely end when USA legalizes drugs. Although Mexican drug cartels, or drug trafficking organizations, have existed for several decades, their influence has increased. Why should we support or not support the mexican drug war? Why do people support the mexican drug war? Laurence M Vance, the author of The Root of Support for the Drug War stated, “For some the reason is safety. Because it can be dangerous to use illicit drugs, some think the government should ban them” Drugs can be dangerous if you use them improperly and can cause many issues in your body. “For some the reason is health. The use of mind-altering and mood-altering substances is said to be unhealthy.” Drugs can get your body in a lot of trouble. On Drug lords hands this war prevents them from making a lot of money on drugs. Drugs is a very profitable business to be in. Drugs are a negative force in the world but sometimes you have to let them be. My opinion on the mexico drug war is against it.

First off this war has not stopped teens and young adults from getting illicit drugs. Drugs for teens are very easy to access especially in large cities. Second, thousands of people have died from the mexican drug war. Why give so many lives to a war that is not working in your favor?After all these years maybe they need to look at it in a different angle so they don’t lose so many lives. Finally the drug war costs lots of money to keep running.

You have to pay for guns,food and transportation which can start to add up. All of these reasons are why I am against The Mexican Drug War. To conclude, people think support and don’t support the mexican drug war. Personally I don’t for many reasons. The mexican drug war has lasted for 9 years and is still going.
