A Modest Proposal: A Satirical Solution for Saving the Reef
FOR PREVENTING THE ESCALATION AND LONG TERM PERPETUATION OF AQUATIC EXTINCTION It is a melancholy object to see the Great Barrier Reef die. The great barrier reef is suffering from a lot of things such as coral bleaching from climate change, and complete ecosystem collapse. This is affecting the inhabitants of the reef and is causingthem to have to relocate and some of them are dying from lack of a food source and protection. I think it is agreed by all parties that the life threatening occurrence of the dying reef needs to be fixed. This dying ecosystem is essential to life of aquatic animals living in the Great Barrier Reef.
Without the reef they have no place to hide or live in for protection and they are also losing a food source as well. The reef is quickly deteriorating and we need to band together to try to stop and preserve the reef for years to come. Someone needs to find a solution so this drastic problem and if they can pull of the task of saving the reef there should be a healthy reward for them as well. But my intention is far from being confined to provide only for the betterment of the reef, this solution will not only stop the decay of the reef but will cure the infesting diseases that plague the reef today as well as bring to better air quality and less pollution in the world around us. It will also bring healthier life to the fish and food that invades the underwater world. This solution might be the thing that reclaims life to the Great Barrier Reef and makes for a better world.
As to my own part, I have studied the proposal of other projectors, and concluded that they are not nearly as efficient as they claim to be. Some say that getting a lot of volunteers for reef clean up with help preserve and better the reef. This will not work because the progress that is made isn’t permanent and needs to be maintained and requires a lot of participation from people. If the reef continues to die, then there won’t be an ecosystem for the fish nor a food source and we will also be losing an incredible tourist site that will also result in loss of money. The best benefit that will come from my solution is that it will keep the reef alive and growing and keep buildings coming.
I will now present my own idea, which i hope will not be subject to any disagreement. I think that we should stop all use and production of vehicles or motors that use natural oils,gases, and other oil based products because they end up getting spilled in the oceans, polluting our waters, polluting our air, and creating for a less sustainable environment in the world and seas. This solution will result in less pollution of the waters which is what is currently plaguing the reef today and will cause for more life sustainability and more food resources. I humbly offer it to publick consideration that humankind as a cohesive and cooperative unit, should stop using all motor vehicles or forms of transportation using oil or gas based products also we should stop the production of these products for they are a dirty prices and a lot of the by-products are drained into streams, rivers, and oceans and cause whole ecosystems to die off. This means that we need clean sources of transportation.
Every citizen will be state wide issues rather a pair of roller blades, a skateboard, or a bike, your choice. In this scenario it will stop the pollution of the lakes, streams, rivers, and oceans. The pollution of ocean water is what Is effectively killing of parts of the Great Barrier Reef. It was also cause the population to be more fit and healthier because they are using themselves as a form of transportation. Of course just stopping the use of vehicles that consume oil and gasses won’t fully solve the problem. That is why we will go back to have no electricity because you have to burn coal to produce electricity.
Clean sources of electricity such as wind, or solar energy will be allowed but requires mandatory inspections and you have to untainted a certificate allowing you to do so. These drastic and sudden changes. This could be difficult to implement because in today’s world our whole lives revolve around the idea of transportation. It is how we get our resources for our house, our food and other things. It would be near impossible to get everyone to stop using all things involving fossil fuels. But if this task could be performed it would save mankind.
It would increase air quality, improve the quality of our water and save the reef by ending water pollution with is cause coral bleaching and coral decay. I can think of no valid objection that may be introduced to antagonize this proposal. One objection could be that this solution is too broad and would take too much human interaction and it would be desirable because people don’t wanna give up their cars and electrify and conveniences. But this task is possible because when u tell people about something sad such as the reef dying they want to look good so they will participate in anything such as giving up their cars because people are kind. Again, no one should dare to suggest these notions of saving the Coral reef to me until they have a small spark of hope that these actions may be implemented.
It is not that I do not respect the input of others on the subject of solutions to this topic, but simply that they are probably not as informed as me. I researched this topic for two weeks and went to multiple credible sources. This is the only true solution that would compel ru solve this topic for a long time to come because other solutions such as coral learnings aren’t permanent but temporary and we need permanent solutions to save the magnificent coral reef.
