Dear Editor, As our community grows we have to grow with it rather that means being wealthy or doing what we enjoy.Becausethere are millions of careers to choose from or create each career won’t need the same skills.Depending on what makes you happy, college education may be important for getting the career you want, wealth you need, and goals you want to achieve. Depending on the career you want it might need a college education or it may not.Peoplewho lack educational degrees are more likely to be limited to basic jobs in service, manufacturing and construction industries.
While employees with a high school education may secure jobs with good benefits, college graduates typically fare better, entering higher-level careers with greater salaries. They are also more likely to receive promotions, earn raises and develop reasoning and communication skills that can be applied to their jobs.According to a 2012 Federal Reserve Study, 30-year-olds who have never taken out a student loan are now more likely to own homes than those who have taken out loans. Auto loans are also trending down at faster rates for those with student debt history than for those without. A college education may be one of the best investments of time and money for a person’s career. A 2011 report produced by the American Community Survey that was released by the U.
S. Census Bureau stated that those who held a bachelor’s degree were expected to earn a 40-year lifetime salary of about $2.4 million dollars on average, while high school graduates only took a lifetime salary of about $1.4 million dollars. On average, those who held master’s degrees earned $2.8 million dollars.
Holders of professional degrees could expect lifetime earnings in excess of $4 million dollars. As of 2012 student loan debt was over $1 trillion dollars, and more than 850,000 student loans were in default. Since we all set goals it may be easier to reach those goals with a college education if it is a goal to be the best lawyer or high class businessman. But the goals that associate with sports or the arts don’t necessarily need a college education. We all love different things some love getting smarter and bettering their career that way and some take a different road and become an entrepreneur. Also there’s people who think everyone should go to college buts that because they believe in there own goal and don’t know what goals you’ve set if you think collage is a waste of time it might be for you but your goal isn’t the same as others.
In some cases college is necessary to reach some goals and achieve some wealth but maybe not the best use of time if you can’t achieve what you want to.Everyone says dream big reach for your dreams. So if college is the stairwell to reach your dreams do it and if not and you no a shorter or better path then take it. I think in some cases a college education is necessary for the career you want, wealth you need, and goals you want to achieve but that’s not all cases no one’s tell you what your dreams are and no one is going to tell you how to reach them. Sincerely, Kayla B.
