Company: ProteusCustomer: Beat BooksSubmitted by: Montgomery-Baird CommunicationsBeatBooks is a London shop, specialising in rare and used books, magazines and ephemera from sixties and seventies.
BeatBooks wanted to improve the profile of the company and to provide an online catalogue and ordering system.
proteus developed a site that uses engaging graphics designed by a creative agency and a real sense of humour in its look and feel, resulting in a very popular web presence. New catalogues are updated on the site, as they become available. The technology deployed includes “email push”, a search engine and secure socket layer implementation, in order to enable secure on-line transactions.
Andrew Sclanders of BeatBooks said, “We deal with a fairly consistent number of customers; trade dealers who specialise in reselling our products. Although we already know them well, the web helps to leverage trade and is another sales channel for us.”
