By sharing his ways, and leading a group of followers, he had created an outcome positive for India. Jr., and Adolf Hitler. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2nd, 1869, in the town of Porbander (now known as Gujarat). He had learned in a school in the city of Rajkot, where his father worked as the prime minister to the local ruler. During this time, India had been ruled by Britain. Over 500 kingdoms, and principalities were under British rule.

Rajkot was one of these. After his schooling had ended, he had moved to South Africa to become a legal advisor. Mohandas had wrote many novels, which had earned himself the name “Mahatma Gandhi” which meant “Great-Souled.” Shortly after, Gandhi had moved back to India. In the middle of witnessing a group of Indian policemen getting brutally murdered, caused him to get arrested for sedition.

On 1930, Gandhi lead the “Salt March”, this an attempt to get the British to quit taxing them every time they bought it. Gandhi’s leadership had led him to success. On January 30, 1948, Gandhi was shot while he was walking to a platform where he would pray. Mohandas Gandhi led the Indian movement against the British rule. Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American leader who led the African Americans to gain their free rights in America.

Because of Martin Luther King Jr. and his actions that helped African Americans to live their lives in freedom and have equal rights in America. Mohandas Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. were both great leaders. Mohandas Gandhi can be compared to Martin Luther King Jr.

in nearly every way. M.L.K. Jr. was inspired by Mohandas Gandhi, where he had based almost every one of his movements towards what Gandhi had previously done.

Mohandas and Martin both fought for the rights of their country, both supported non-violence, both helped their people learn to resist being treated terribly without resorting to violence.Finally, Both Martin Luther King Jr. and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi were both assassinated for the same reasons, fighting for equal rights. “We must be the change we wish to see.” ~ Gandhi. This is the quote that Mohandas Gandhi said during one of his speeches, and was one of the quotes that had inspired Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi are also different in many ways. While Mohandas had fought for freedom from the local rulers, Martin Luther fought for discrimination towards African Americans. Due to the periods of time that they had created such a movement, and had created this movement in different parts of the world. While Martin Luther King Jr. had looked up to Gandhi, Gandhi had also looked up to Adolf Hitler.

Gandhi and Adolf were very different. Adolf had created a mass murder of Jews in Germany, known as the “Holocaust.? During this time, Gandhi had addressed a letter to Adolf, in the letter he had hoped to inspire hitler to shun war and adopt more peaceful options. He was asking Hitler to adopt his method of “nonviolence”. “Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal” ~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This was a quote that King had addressed towards hitler, by using this quote, King states that he not only looks up to Gandhi, but Adolf as well. Martin Luther King Jr., Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, and Adolf Hitler were prime aspects of heroic leaders. All three of these advocators each had many similarities, and many differences. Based on the sources, it is clear that India would not have had gained so much freedom is it wasn’t to Gandhi. The historic teaching of these leaders will live on from generation to generation.

The only remaining question is if Martin Luther King Jr. and Adolf Hitler to similarities and differences just between themselves.
