” (Keller) They found my problem two years after I was born. It was the middle of the summer when I asked my mom for some kool-aid, and she couldn’t understand what I was trying to say. It wasn’t long afterwards, when more words I tried to say didn’t come out the way they should. Finally, my mother, with the help from my doctor, came to the conclusion that I have a speech impediment problem. Much like Helen Keller overcame the obstacle of not being able to communicate, so did I. I was shy and wouldn’t speak to people not in my family.
Other people couldn’t understand what I was saying so I stop talking to them. My speech therapy helped a lot and after a while I started talking to people again. Helen Keller couldn’t communicate because she could not hear or see. Her parents didn’t know what to do, so they called the Perkins School for the Blind and asked for a teacher to teach their daughter. Anne Sullivan, who was blind too, came to the Keller’s house to teach the deaf and blind child. Anne Sullivan used many different ways to teach this young girl.

I was 2 years old when my mom noticed I couldn’t say my words right. My mom thought when I got older it would get better, but it didn’t. I went to a doctor when I was 4 years old, and he said I was born without my frenulum, he piece of skin under my tongue. The doctor sent me to speech therapy where a group of people started helping me.
I am like Helen Keller because we both had trouble communicating. Helen Keller had AnneSullivan to help her learn how to communicate. I had a bunch of speech teachers help me learn to say my words better. After getting help, we could both communicate. Much like Helen Keller overcame the obstacle of not being able to communicate, so did I.

My speech therapy helped a lot, and after a while I started talking to people again. I learned with the help of my speech teachers and practicing hard that I could talk to people better. Helen taught me that we should never give up no matter how hard or impossible something is. I learned if we work hard enough and if we have people and friends to help us; we can do it.
