Chapter 1. 0 INTRODUCTION Data is a valuable thing that will last longer that the system it selves. It plays an important role in any business organization. Internet was one of the best and functional inventions that man were made. Because of Internet, people worldwide find an easy way for communication and research for study purposes. An Internet Cafe is a business organization that involves the use of Internet.

It organizes and maintains a large number of network computers. Evolution of Internet Cafe Software has been so fast that more and more commercial Internet Cafe Software are in the market now a days.

Internet Cafe and Internet Shop have long recognized the advantages of managing network computers such as log in, time in-out, payment for the rentals of computers and etc. In an Internet Cafe were managing network computer time are manually processed, the task is usually under the responsibility of the internet cafe manager or owner who must at all times, deal with the pressure of working consistently, efficiently, timely and patiently. Robbing around the shop, dealing with other customers and other personal matters needs a lot of time and attention.

In such case, a mobile-base Internet Cafe Sever (MODESC) will help a lot in managing the business, since the computerization is becoming trend the owner of the Internet Cafe needs not just desktop software but mobile base software for faster and better service to its customers.

1. 1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Internet Cafe now days are located everywhere. It can be seen beside the schools, inside the malls, near our houses and in many other places. People now a day are more aware about the different uses of internet.

That’s why Internet Cafe business is supported by several customers.

The researcher decided to choose the Internet Cafe to conduct their study. The researcher also decided to create mobile-base Internet Cafe Server to manage the transaction inside the Internet Shop. The system can be use to fasten the transaction and to reduce the time and effort of the staffs in the Shop. 1. 2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM This study aimed to focus on the problems encountered using Internet Cafe Software. 1.

The main objective of the study is to develop and validate a mobile-base Internet Cafe Server name MODESC (Mobile Desktop Server Controller) for different Internet Cafe shop. It will help the business in managing network computers. 1.

3. 2 Specific Objectives The specific objective of the study is to develop an easy way of time in-out, computing the cost of rentals and etc. It also provides a password protected mobile system to secure data and protect the privacy of the information. Data reports and searching is also the objective of the study. . 4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY MODESC (Mobile Desktop Server Controller) is very much significant to the following: To Internet Cafe owner The study will give benefits for the Internet Cafe owner because of the following reasons: it would integrate Internet Cafe services, it improves the accuracy of time, it will reduce time of processing, automatically locked network computers when time finished, only the administrator can manage the server computer, and it provides mobile-base Internet Cafe Server software.

To the Researchers

This study will equip us with right knowledge in developing a mobile application which runs on android phones. It also gives us knowledge about the transaction in an Internet Cafe. To the Future Researchers This study will serve as their reference for their research papers and will help them to gain knowledge to express their ideas in their chosen study. 1. 5 SCOPE AND DELIMITATION MODESC (mobile desktop server controller) aimed to develop a mobile-base Internet Cafe Server system for different computer cafe to improve day-to-day transaction of the Internet cafe.

MODESC main modules includes: start time, end time, add time, locked computers, shutdown, restart and system administration.

The time management features include: manage time of different network computers using this software, speed up processing. Provide accurate time and display the time information in the workstation. Manage computers from your mobile phone. Take the control on your mobile and do anything you want on your desktop. MODESC only runs of android phone.
