Why Children Go to School
Here I shall explore a few reasons why children go to school and why it may be beneficial to the child and the future of our country. I explore possible reasons why immigrants are often so eager to learn and explore how a counter culture to learning is damaging our country.Learning how to learn is importantThis is possibly one of the most important things in our society. Learning the skills needed to learn is very important. It frees up a person so that he or she may take their own direction in life. Learning how to learn in an academic sense is quite difficult.
It is not like learning how to walk and talk. With the skills needed to build your own base of knowledge, you are able to pick your own life path–even without taking further qualifications. For example, if you want to be a programmer then you may learn it for free with books and the Internet. It need not be something that is out of a person’s reach.Learning helps prepare people to contribute to societyContributing to society should be the aim of all people, and by having a job you are contributing. Whether you are making paving slabs or serving fries you are contributing to your society.
How you contribute is up to you. Our country allows for people to pick a career, even though some are near impossible to do without rich friends and family. Still, many methods for contributing to society exist for people, and this is thanks to what may be learned through education (which starts at school).The Nigerian immigrant goes straight to the libraryA common idea held by some African Americans is that they are pushed away from learning and that it is a bad idea. However, a Nigerian immigrant will treasure learning and often reach a high level of education and social status, even with a poor understanding of spoken English. This can only prove that learning is available and beneficial for all.
It is cool to be dumbThis is another common thought process in our country. For some reason there is a massive amount of people who celebrate being dumb and stupid. This is possibly one of the best reasons why children should go to school. Being dumb is only cool until adulthood is reached and the so called “cool” person is suddenly just another one of life’s losers.ConclusionPeople should go to school because without it there are going to be even more problems in this world. Our country is already broken by the fact that ignorance is rewarded with less work.
People such as Homer Simpson from the Simpsons TV show actually exist and get away with doing less because they are purposefully ignorant. This needs to be stopped by having people go to school. People do not need to contribute in order to survive in this country, which is something that is okay but that does not make it a good idea or a preferable way to be.
