Have you ever had an obstacle you had to overcome? I was riding my 400EX four wheeler, and I rolled it.

I went for a week without going to the hospital. When I did go, they said I had broken my hand. Much like Helen Keller, I overcame it. Helen Keller had to overcome the obstacle of not being able to communicate. When Helen was a baby, she got sick and became blind and deaf. The Kellers hired Annie Sullivan to teach Helen.

Annie was able to teach Helen trust, obedience, and that words have meanings, in order to overcome her problem. Like Helen Keller, I also had to overcome an obstacle. My obstacle is when I broke my right hand and could not play baseball. I could not play sports, ride dirt bikes, or use my hand. After therapy I could move my hand, and I got to play the last game of the season. Although our obstacles were different, we share a few similarities.

We both could not do much for a period of time. We also had someone to help us get through it. Helen could not talk, and I could not do anything with my hand, but we both overcame it. Like Helen Keller, I had an obstacle, and I was determined to overcome it. I learned from Helen Keller’s experience that I take being able to talk for granted.
