It starts with YOU!

Are you a bystander or an upstander? A bystander is a person who observes someone being bullied and either does or does not do anything to stop it. Whereas an upstander is a person who stands up for something such as the victim. There are many ways you can be an upstander and help many. Here are some ways: Help others who are being bullied – Be a friend to a victim, compliment them, congratulate them, walk with them to lunch, talk to them.

You never know this, but too a victim this means so much to them because they finally have a friend and to them your their hero. Stop rumors from spreading – Rumors are bad and majority of the times they are false and just some silly gossip spreading. If a rumor spreads and you happen to hear about it and cognize it’s false then Stand Up, Speak Up for what’s right. Be friendly – If you happen to notice someone alone at a lunch table, go up to them and join them or introduce them to your circle of friends. Newbies – If there are new students that are now apart of your school then make them feel welcomed and comfortable. Also, introduce the person to your group of friends.
