The Fickle Sea and The Immutable Land

Dreams, I believe, are represented as the rough draft of someone’s predicted future. These rough drafts are used as models to develop into the final draft called goals, and as it takes time to revise; the drafts of dreams are overlooked and begin to establish an intended structure that will end in the conclusion of someone’s life. This structure is the foundation of organized steps that achieve the goal. Complexity will omit itself upon these drafts as further thoughts are considered and the realistic development of goals is finalized. The natural development of goals is characterized by: childhood dreams, experiences, and introspection.

Often as a reverie-induced child, I indulged myself upon hours on end to the globally known anime show “One Piece”. The series was based on a pursuit to find treasure left by the king of the pirates. The treasure was the accumulation of one-thirds of the world’s total in gold. In response to those hours, my future dream at the time was to sail the seven seas with a crew, on the voyage of pirate treasure. In a universal aspect, dreams are usually considered to be simple, to be unplanned, and to be spontaneous. In regards to my childhood dreams, there was never any definite preparation to achieving my dream.

It was solely detailed by somehow possessing a caravel of wood, and finding crewmates whom must’ve been realistically delirious to accept to travel the sea for pirate treasure. Rationally, there were no concrete steps I could’ve taken to accomplish my dream. Likewise, the schematics for the idea were spontaneous as I indulged myself watching the show, the thoughts conceivably arising from my personal hopes and thoughts. Although, these ideals were not considered practical and are substituted as our minds further experience temporal reality. Eventually in time, the cognitive process resort to new prospects and aspects of thought.

Humans at this time begin to realize the impracticability of their dreams. From this point, the human mind resolves for another solution which concludes into a goal. Seemingly discarded, dreams at this stage of someone’s life do not seem to have an influence on realistic interactions. Throughout personal lives, every single particle, every single emotion, every single notion, have a direct role to shape our goals. For an illustration, picture a scene of a child watching their sibling be racked with the misery of cancer.

Although it is not absolutely deducted, that experience, those emotions have an undistinguished effect on that child. That child may have adapted a future motive to be a cancer research scientist, or simply sought to cure the miseries of human life. Personal experiences that induce a greater response from individuals then normal experiences are instantly marked with the effect that can cause them to reshape their goals. Often behind motives of accomplished people, are situations which were presented to them in the past and influenced them in such a way that they strive to prevent the initial event or associated deviate to occur to someone else. Goals can also have the tendency to develop simply by a person’s self-will of interest.

Although people do not realize it, they are using the method of introspection to develop personal goals. Introspection is the self-observation and recording of conscious inner thoughts, desires and sensations. For an example, those that have a perverse reaction to the ocean can develop goals that are in the field of marine exploration like Marine Biology. Personas look upon themselves and disregard all past experiences and develop a self-willed goal that peaks from their interest. Goals are not developed from one influence and develop at one instance in someone’s life, they are characterized by several attributes; goals are developed even when primary goals are achieved.

The amount of goals is gauged upon the individual themselves. Dreams are the stepping stones of goals; they cannot be neglected simply due to the fact that there is no evidence of its effect on personal lives. The effect developed over time and is characterized by other influences. The past experiences that occur in a person’s life generally impact our motives, also shaping a portion of our goals. One must look upon themselves, upon their past, and upon their dreams to find their goals.
