Qu'est-ce que l'analyse PEST ?

L'analyse PEST (PEST Analysis) est un cadre que les consultants en stratégie utilisent pour analyser le macro-environnement externe dans lequel une société opère. Le PEST est un acronyme pour les facteurs suivants :

• Politique

• Économique

• Social

• Technologique

Les facteurs de PEST jouent un rôle important dans les opportunités de création de valeur d'une stratégie. Cependant ils sont habituellement en dehors du contrôle de l'entreprise et doivent normalement être considérés en tant que menaces ou opportunités. Rappelez-vous que les facteurs macro-économique peuvent différer selon le continent, le pays ou même la région, aussi normalement une Analyse PEST devrait être réalisée selon le pays.

Remplir une Analyse PEST est relativement simple, et peut être fait par l'intermédiaire d'ateliers utilisant des techniques de brainstorming. L'utilisation de l'analyse PEST peut varier de : entreprise et planification stratégique, planification Marketing, développement d'activité et de produit, et rapports de recherches.

Variantes de l'Analyse PEST

Des formes parfois prolongées sont utilisées, comme SLEPT Analysis (plus l'aspect Légal) ou STEEPLE Analysis : Facteurs Sociaux / démographiques, Technologiques, Economiques, Environnementaux (nature), Politiques, Légaux et Ethique. En outre les facteurs géographiques peuvent être significatifs.
